enjoy the delicious sausage rolls using our red onion & thyme marmalade
x1 375g roll of puff pastry
400g sausage meat
2 tablespoons red onion & thyme marmalade
1 teaspoon of fresh or dried thyme
1 egg, beaten
1 teaspoon of sesame seeds
Pre-heat the oven to gas mark 4, 350ºF (180ºC) and cover a baking tray with a sheet of baking parchment.
Mix the sausage meat, red onion & thyme marmalade and the fresh or dried thyme. Leave the mixture to one side and roll out the puff pastry onto a chopping board and cut in halve.
Divide the sausage mixture in two and spread along the length of each pastry strip in a cylinder shape, leaving a 1cm edge. Roll the pastry around the sausage meat and brush the ends the beaten egg.
Cut each roll into roughly 10 pieces, if you want smaller sausage rolls, for bigger sausage rolls you can cut each roll into 4/5 pieces. Place on a baking sheet, brush the remaining beaten egg and sprinkle over the sesame seeds.
Place in the oven and cook for 20-30 mins until the pastry is crisp and golden and meat has cooked all the way through. Remove from the oven and enjoy warm or cold.
